Jawan Movie Script Analysis
Reading through Atlee’s filmography, you’ll notice a common thread among all his films; it’s the way he crafts movies for a significant segment of the audience. This is one of the reasons why ‘Gadar 2’ performed exceptionally well; it was made for the audience that makes up more than 70% of theater-goers in India. Atlee has consistently stuck to this formula.
‘Jawan’ is designed in a way that just when you start feeling it’s being stretched, there’s a ‘whistle-worthy’ sequence waiting for you. You get to see Shah Rukh Khan in various avatars throughout the film. For some reason, Shah Rukh Khan puts in a bit more effort in the Hindi version dubbing and somewhat excels in the voice-to-body movement department. Yes, it will remind you of ‘King is Back,’ but it’s designed better for a true masala film experience.
Following Atlee’s directorial pattern, you’ll see how he directs multiple movies in one film. Fans’ adoration for Virata is the most crucial aspect, perhaps even more than the story and screenplay. J.K. Vishnu’s cinematography shines in action scenes, not so much in slow-motion scenes, but it’s once again the ground-level action that gets the most extensive camerawork.
Jawan Movie Star Performances
When it comes to their professional careers in mainstream cinema, Shah Rukh Khan probably delivers his best performance. ‘Raees’ and ‘Pathan’ are good examples; they add a layer to multiple characters, and SRK excels once again. His three avatars leave an impression, while the rest merely contribute to the disorganized narrative.
In terms of character, Nayanthara gets a pivotal role against Shah, but I wish there was more depth to her character in terms of the storyline. She looks enchanting in every frame. Vijay Sethupathi is a better actor than what he’s given here. He deserved better writing. Supporting actors like Sanya Malhotra and Sunil Grover fail to make a mark. Deepika Padukone, in her special cameos, looks incredibly attractive in her 90s avatars.
Jawan Movie Direction & Music
Atlee has studied extensively on a grand scale and knows how to play with the nerves of Indian audiences. With ‘Jawan,’ he serves the same with some additional masala that Indian audiences are sure to enjoy.
Anirudh Ravichander may have lost in the songs, but he scores big in the background music. You won’t hear regular ‘breakneck’ songs, but with orchestration, he’s created an orchestra magic that you’ll undoubtedly feel.
The Last Word
In Jawan Movie Review, we found that the ‘Jawan’ will always be remembered as Atlee’s exceptional tribute to Shah Rukh Khan, proving why he’s the ‘last word’ in stars for all the right reasons.
