Honda Motorcycle India has launched the new Honda Hornet 2.0 bike in India. The bike has been provided with BS6 OBD2 compliant engine and new features. Its starting price has been kept at Rs 1.39 lakh (ex-showroom).

The bookings for the bike have been started and the deliveries are expected to start from September in time for the festival season. In India, the Hornet will compete with the TVS Apache RTR 180. Honda is offering 10 years warranty (3 years standard and 7 years extra warranty) with the bike.

Honda Hornet 2.0: Design and color options

As far as new design of the new Honda Hornet 2.0 is concerned, only a few cosmetic changes have been made as compared to the previous generation. The bike has LED headlights, sharp body panels along with a fuel tank with new graphics which give it an aggressive look. There is no major change in the bike other than mentioned above.

The bike is available in four color options – Matte Axis Gray Metallic, Matte Marvel Blue Metallic, Matte Sangria Red Metallic and Pearl Igneous Black.

Honda Hornet 2.0: Engine Specifications

A 184.4cc single-cylinder air-cooled engine is provided which generates maximum power of 17bhp at 8500rpm and torque of 15.9nm at 6000rpm. The engine has been designed as per BS6 Phase-2 norms which means the bike will also run on E-20 petrol.

The engine is tuned with a 5-speed gearbox and a new assist and slipper clutch that makes up shifts smoother and prevents rear wheel lock-up on hard downshifts during slow speeds.

Honda Hornet 2.0: Suspension and Braking

The bike has been provided with Up-Side Down (USD) front fork for comfort riding. The company claims that Hornet is the first bike in the sub-200cc segment, which is equipped with mono-shock rear suspension. Apart from this, alloy wheel and split seat setup is also provided. For braking, there are disc brakes on both wheels along with single-channel ABS.

Honda Hornet 2.0: Features

The bike comes with LED lighting setup. This includes headlamp, tail lamp and indicators. The new Hornet has a fully digital instruments cluster with 5-level lighting control that shows various information like gear status indicator, service due indicator, trip computer, speed.
